Managing Director Hisashi Takechi said the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki will continue to strengthen its presence across segments with a special focus on SUVs.
The new Brezza – which is priced between Rs 7.99-13.96 lakh (ex-showroom) – will take on the likes of Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonnet in the entry-level SUV segment.
Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 760 crore along with supplier partners to develop the all-new Brezza.
“This is our 6th launch in the last 8 months. Today we begin the next chapter of Brezza”, said Takeuchi.
With hatchbacks waning among Indian consumers, the entry SUV segment emerged as the largest segment in the local market in the last financial year. Overall, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch multiple SUVs in the next 18-24 months to capture around 44% to 50% market share in FY22.
