January 2023 is going to be extremely exciting for auto enthusiasts as the Delhi Auto Expo is all set to return with an array of new product unveilings and launches. Talking about electric vehicles (EVs), three flagship EVs will be revealed including the MG Air EV, MG 4 EV and the Hyundai mass-market EV. In addition, three new electric cars will go on sale in January 2023 – BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Tiago EV. Here are the key specifications of the above models.
BYD ATTO 3
Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dreams) announced the prices of the eToo 3 electric SUV for the Indian market. The model has been priced at Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested buyers can book the vehicle by paying Rs 50,000. The carmaker has confirmed that the deliveries of the first batch of 500 units will begin in January 2023. The powertrain setup of the BYD Atto 3 includes a 60kWh BYD Blade battery and a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor.
It offers 201bhp power and 310Nm torque and an ARAI-certified range of 521km on a single charge. The electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds. Its battery pack takes 50 minutes to charge up to 80 percent. The Atto 3 comes packed with several advanced connectivity features and comfort features.
Mahindra XUV400
The Mahindra XUV400 will be the first electric SUV from the home-grown manufacturer in the country. The prices of the models will be announced in January 2023. It will be made available in three variants – Base, EP and EL with a 39.4kWh battery pack and an electric motor (150bhp / 310Nm). It is the fastest vehicle in its segment, which accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds.
Mahindra claims that the XUV400 EV offers a certified range of 456km on a single charge. There are three drive modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless as well as a segment-first single pedal drive mode – Lively Mode. The new Mahindra electric SUV can achieve a top speed of 150 kmph. Buyers will have 5 exterior color options to choose from.
Tata Tiago EV
Deliveries of the Tata Tiago EV will begin from next month. The carmaker has already announced its prices which start from Rs.8.49 lakhs and go up to Rs.11.79 lakhs. These prices will be applicable for the first 10,000 customers and of these, 2,000 units are reserved for existing Tigor EV and Nexon EV customers. The electric hatchback is offered with two battery pack options – 19.2kWh and 24kWh – offering a range of 250 km and 315 km on a full charge.
It comes with Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage technology which includes a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. It makes 61bhp and 110Nm of power with the smaller battery pack and 74bhp with 114Nm with the bigger battery pack.
